You can buy the city transport tickets mainly on tram stops and in some shops [kiosk]. Generally all these places are marked by the stickers with the green-yellow MPK logo, visible at the front door or shop window. Tickets for trams and buses they are the same. Their price depends on the amount of time you will be travelling and NOT for the number of trips. The prices:
The tickets for night buses cost the same as for the day transport.

In some places you can order a radio-taxi for free (f.i. in the main hall of the railway station), look for the sign "Tu mozesz zamowic radio taxi" meaning "Here you can order a radio taxi". You do not have to enter the first cab in the rank.
All taxis, by law must have a tariff card on the window. There are 4 tariffs [taryfa]:
taryfa 1: within city limits between 05.00-23.00
taryfa 2: within city limits between 23.00-05.00 on Sundays and holidays
taryfa 3: outside city limits between 05.00-23.00
taryfa 4: outside city limits between 23.00-05.00 on Sundays/holidays
For example, the tarif 1 is 2-2.50 PLN per 1km and the entrance fee [taryfa poczatkowa] is 5-6 PLN.
In the city centre between 9 am and 7 pm you have to pay for parking. The pay-zone (Strefa Ograniczonego Postoju - SOP) is marked by special road signs. The price depends on the part of the centre and on the time (every next hour is more expensive). In parking meters you can pay with coins only.
